Le Havre AC confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Arnaud Bodart on Wednesday 16 September. The 28-year-old Belgian, a free agent after leaving Lille, has signed a contract until 30 June 2027 and will wear the number 16 shirt.
The Norman club, currently 16th in Ligue 1 with just two points from four games, needed to strengthen the goalkeeping position. This need arose from a serious Achilles tendon injury to first-choice keeper Lionel Mpasi, who will be sidelined long-term. Bodart arrives to bring experience and immediate depth to the squad.
An experienced profile
Arnaud Bodart was developed at Standard Liège, where he made his professional debut in 2017. His lack of playing time at LOSC led him to seek a new challenge, which he now finds at Le Havre.
The club's sporting director highlighted the importance of the arrival given the current context. "In search of a new goalkeeper, Le Havre AC officially confirmed, this Wednesday 16 September 2026, the arrival of Arnaud Bodart," he said. The player, who stands at 1.86 metres, is expected to integrate quickly with the squad as the team prepares for its away trip to Troyes on 20 November.
This signing comes as Le Havre AC look to improve a difficult situation in the league, with just one win in their last five matches across all competitions.
